It was my intent to finish this artjournal page I started on Day 3 while I waited to set up for Maker’s Mart this morning, but my magic marker ran out of ink and I hadn’t brought any extra dark pens. I tried playing with the white jellyroll but the picture just isn’t ready for it yet. So I gave up and read my new book for 1/2 hour (see Wylde Women quote from it below).
I was casting about for something else to share for the day and not having much inspiration when, as luck would have it, a gift arrived from Angela Gattin of SassyAngelac. I met Angela through her posting with Art Every Day Month. She is doing giveaways to those who raise their hand and say “Me! ME!” So I raised my hand and gave her a shout and woohoo! I received my lovely singing bowl in the mail this afternoon.
It is wonderful. Its tone sings right through my solar plexus chakra. It sang me right out of an impending dark cloud! It sang me into warm sun and delight and a great deal of gratitude. It sang me right back to where I need to be – and I’m grinning big time. So my creativity today is tuned into song and the voice of this bowl – an aural creativity I don’t usually tend toward…which makes it all that much better!
So many thanks to Angela for her generosity, a wave to the Universe for letting it arrive today, and a hug to Leah at Creative Every Day for creating this community!
Now here’s where it gets really creative. Angela did this just because. I’m a HUGE fan of “just because.” And I think I must play this forward. so I am going to spend a day or so asking things around me if they are ready to move to a new home. Watch this space for the continuum!
