Architectural tiles installed in private residence, slab built and hand sculpted by Tammy Vitale
Somehow I missed that December 25 is just a week away. Here I am wandering along, buying presents, thinking about the holidays and BAM here it is, and then BAM again and it’s over. I usually really feel like Christmas somewhere around the middle of January. At any rate, here it is and yesterday we went out with Daughter and Grandson to pick out a tree. Band news: most people must put their trees up far earlier. Good news – we found one last great tree and got about 30% off because they wanted to get rid of it. Bonus!
Unpacking all the ornaments I discovered that at end of season last year we added many new glass balls and some new lights. And this tree was big enough to hold everything – old and new. Woohoo! Daughter was somewhat disgruntled that twinkly lights didn’t circle the tree so that she could follow the twinkle – but hey, I’m an artist – proper patterns never were my strong suit.
We have collected ornaments for each of us since around 1986 (wow – 20 years…time really does fly) and they are so much fun putting up on the tree. This year Grandson helped (and oh doesn’t that make the holiday?)
And Husband and I actually got into the cottage last week and started working on the tile floor, which looks great if I do say so – never mink paying someone else 2K. We’re doing just fine. Better than I thought I would – again, patterns not being my strong suit. We aren’t done yet – we are taking out time. I figure for saving 2K I can allow myself some time instead of making mayself crazy over some imagined time deadline for getting it done. The fun is yet to come: grouting.
I want to thank everyone for the great response to The Web Women Giving Circle and hope everyone will pass along the information so that, at this season, we share our bounty with others who have not been as fortunate as we.
thought for the day: Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. Williams James (thanks to Eva Gregory, Insight of the Day).
