Drawing_the_emperor Drawing_the_empress Drawing_compassion

Drawings: The Emperor, the Empress, Compassion, crayon on 100 lb multi-purpose paper, assigned to the Sacred torsos, marketing.  Original drawings available to purchasers of the torsos for $35 by Tammy Vitale.

I did these drawings today, readying the Sacred torsos for hanging in Heron’s Way Gallery.  They go on the front of booklets.  The booklets contain essentially the same information as that found on the website.  What I noticed, is that I’m moving toward Tarot titles (even with the Zen Suite designation for these first torsos).  Which could keep me really busy if I do a torso for all the Tarot cards – how fun would that be?!  It would tend to make the writing easier too.  There’s a lot of Booklets_empress_and_emperor info out there on the cards of the Tarot.  Perhaps for starters, I could just do the major arcana cards; thus, Sacred

I hoped to get into the studio to play with clay since I have two female torsos in my head ready to make, but the drawings took the better part of the day (and the photos, and grocery shopping, and dealing with after holiday bills and following up on some $$ arguments I’ve been having with various vendors…they’re all seeing it my way).(that makes me very happy).

I think I may have mentioned that I went to New York City with Daughter on Sunday (did I?  or just in individual emails?)  Anyways – we had a grand time.  She loves New York.  I didn’t think I did but then we got dropped on 34th and 6th and low and behold I could see nothing but bead shops (she could see nothing but shoe shops – blinders on both of us I think).  Despite the fact that the bus driver, new, almost left us because he gave us the wrong information on the pick up (he said where he dropped us – wrong.  Lucky for us we had his phone number).  Daughter had it all plotted out that we could take the train home if necessary.  Needless to say, her confidence kept me from freaking out and all in all the trip was fun enough I want to go back.  Me!  to New York City again!  And here’s the YouTube version of the trip.  Alas, my Muvee program refuses to add music.  I was going to put on Walk on the Wild Side by Lou Reed.  You’ll just have to use your imagination.

thought for the day:  The Empress.  Key III.  You are opening to all sensuality, revel in the delights of the senses; a great beauty is revealed; all is perfection; all is receptive; the things of eath are voluptuously welcoming at this time; you are moving with the flow; earth is your dominion, all tings of nature respond perfectly to you; you find comfort among birds, beasts and fellow and sister travelers; there is no need to control; the key at this time is to remember that imagination is everything. • P.S. I liked seeing the sneak shots of your daughter (yes?) in the muvee… pretty lady.

  • WOAH!! Tammy these are great, I REALLY like how this Sacred line is progressing, following its course like melting snow finding the sea. Well done! The drawings/booklets finish it off nicely, as well as the jewellery. Good work friend 🙂

I love the video of NyC, it makes me long to go there even more… I could happily spend my life spending several months of the year living in different cities. What an adventure that would be!

Can't wait to see what you make next… Hugs, E

  • Your post took me back to the great fun I had when I was designing jewelry, living in Boston and then New York, and going to the jewelry district to buy beads. It was where my designs really began; being among such luscious collections of semi-precious loveliness really got me going! 'Glad you got to experience some of that.

Love the drawings and also – think I forgot to tell you how much I like your 'Sacred' website – its great. What a year you're going to have! And of course we're all going to have it with you — watching as each torso is created and hearing their stories. Thanks.

  • Happy New Year!!

Now the pre-Christmas mad sales period is over I am looking forward to catching up. I love the drawings and the prospect of a Torso Tarot Deck.

Thanks for the trip to NYC – I dream about an isolated cottage in the country as my ideal home, but mention the City and I "want to go home" – haven't been since 2005 and I miss my Green pea Deli breakfast!

May the year bring you everything you wish for

    xxx

  • Enjoyed your video Tammy – Esp loved the detail of the New York architecture. Great drawings – they look very effective on the booklets.
