Thanks to Laura Jane at Pictures, Poetry & Prose for using my sculpture "Prayer for the Redwoods" as her picture writing prompt for the day.

As with many wonderful blogs, I found Laura Jane's blog through Leah's Creative Every Day (Leah has the best links!) and have spent time over there practicing my haiku among other things (Never been very good at haiku).

The great thing about Laura Jane's blog is that you can do as much or as little as you please and it's still writing practice.  Much better than spending time with my solitaire cards….this makes me think!

Be sure to click over and enjoy.

And now I have to be the writer's groupie:  did everyone note that Patti Digh (who's book, Life is a Verb, I quoted in yesterday's "thought for the day") stopped by and left me a very sweet comment?!  How very cool is that?!!!!

Only on the Internet can you find all this wonderful places at one sitting.

So while I'm here I'll share two other links I think you'll enjoy:

Carol at Silver Spring Studio is doing work with color theory and has some wonderful links of her own.  LOVE her side bar quilts – she does the most amazing work!

And Walter Anderson, who I looked up because Steve's post at ColorSweetTooth about sailing away made me think of him.

thought for the day:  We are all interconnected.  What I do affects you; what you do affects me.  Even the slightest action…  Patti Digh, Life is a Verb

  • Thanks, Tammy! How could I have missed this? I have to slow the horse down when I am galloping across the Internet Hi-way. Actually, lately I've been spending more time making art, and less on the computer. Imagine!

  • Hi Tammy – I'm coming to you from Pictures, Poetry & Prose. Your sculpture is just incredible. Beautiful! So evocative. I was looking at your paintings too and especially like the two herons. Are they for sale?

  • I love your thought for the day; and our interconnectedness (is that a word?!)is so very apparent online, as you've shown. I'm constantly amazed at the kindness, generosity and information I've found with the click of a mouse. Thanks for reminding us all how important it is to be connected with others.
