Torso: October, hand and slab built, clay wall sculpture with amethyst, by Tammy Vitale (unfinished. Not yet priced).
Am off to the Eastern Shore of Maryland with Husband today to pick up a raku piece that apparently something popped off of while in a display window. Joy of Joie de Vivre says it fell off and she thinks the sun did it. I need to know because I’ve never had goop fail before. Other glues, yes, but not goop (and I have a piece hanging in the elements outside my cottage that’s been there through 5 years of weather, is very heavy, does not have integral hangers built in – in other words, relies on the good to hold the hanger, and no problem. So this is a question mark in my head…why it failed. Because it was raku?).
Remember the broken torso? Here she is on her way to just fine thank you. This isn’t a final picture because she isn’t finished yet. I don’t exactly know why she isn’t finished yet, I just know she isn’t.
And here’s today’s Art Every Day offering – another color in which I will color in tomorrow. Seem to be on one of these art tears: strong black lines, no presketch – just intuitive drawing. No such think as a mistake. I like it! It’s fun!
Here’s another fun tidbit: ITunes now offers free downloads of university courses. You don’t get credit, but you do get information. And information, as they say, is power.
thought for the day: Our thoughts, our attitudes, our emotions are all forms of energy, constantly influencing the world around us. Physicists no longer consider themselves detached observers. They know their very presence influences the properties of the particle/waves they study. Out attitudes affect the cycles within and around us. Aware of this, Tao people live consciously, respectfully, knowing they exert a powerful influence on their world. Diane Dreher, The Tao of Inner Peace

Oooohhhhhhh another picture!!!!!! My inner child is salivating at the thought of coloring the birdie in the corner!
University courses… hmmm…. cool!!! *wondering what kinds of classes they have*
lovely fall torso work; wondering which came first – pulling fall into the torso; or the other torso falling off the wall…
Love your Art Every Day stuff, all beautiful and free! With regard to our thoughts and emotions impacting others – you have nothing but good vibes from me!
Hey Tammy,
That "broken" torso is looking pretty good! Re: previous comment about Artaud–he was quite well known in Paris theater & literary worlds in the 1930's. Anais Nin wrote about him in her diaries–Henry Miller also talks about him in his writings. He was thought to be sort of a forerunner to the theater revolution of the sixties (happenings, art performance, etc.)

You are ON A ROLL!
I haven't been on line for several days, so it was good to catch up on all of your happenings as of late. Peace.
Yes information is power…
I like both, used with gentleness, wisdom and discretion of course 😉
Tammy thanks for checking out my blog. Re: Artaud. I haven't heard his name mentioned since I was in college theater back in the mid-sixties. Even though the college was in a sort of milltown mid-western town we had a cool theatre director who was into Genet, Brecht and so forth and who introduced us to Artaud or maybe I found Artaud on my own, not sure. So I have no idea if he is known or not but I'd bet among theater people he might be.
I love your drawing! Although it's really strong right now, it will be fun to see it colored in! Love your work.
i wonder if they have photoshop classes on line at iTunes?
