Here’s my offering for today’s Art Every Day – we’re half way through! How did that happen? This is some lovely jasper (different kinds I think – I should write this stuff down) I bought on vacation on the Outer Banks.
This particular necklace is for longest friend who is having her 60th birthday in a little over a week. She’s older than me. I will never catch up with her. No matter what. =]
Finishing up for a show tomorrow and have been running around a lot today, so this is it. Enjoy!
thought for the day: Today, more than it was however many years ago, art is had because you have to keep after it so consistently. On so many different fronts. For so little external reward. Artists become veteran artists only by making peace not just with themselves, but with a huge range of issues. You have to find your work all over again all the time, and to do that you have to give yourself maneuvering room on many fronts – mental, physical, temporal. Experience consists of being able to reoccupy useful space easily, instantly…you have a choice between giving your work your best shot and risking that it will not make you happy, or not giving it your best shot, and thereby guaranteeing that it will not make you happy. Hi Tammy, lovely necklace! I hope the show will be good. Again a very interesting thought for the day, thanks. We have to give ourselfs manoeuvering room? Ok. I'll keep that in mind when I go home now, by bus or metro, if I can catch one, where we'll all be like sardines in a tin cause the metro and bus people are on stike again! Everybody is happy:)
Have a great weekend, and a lot of success.
Tammy, Oh my goodness!! your work never ceases to amaze me. That necklace is really gorgeous and you are a very nice friend.

The necklace is AMAZING! That makes me want to make a necklace too… to decorate a box with… or an ornament… *making a little plan*
Pretty necklace – lucky oldest friend! Isn't it funny how we always wanted to the oldest when we were young, and now it's so pleasant to be the youngest?
