Some days the kiln gods smile upon you.
Some days they don’t. Some days their answer to your quest is simply: No!
Readjusting my plans for the day.

Actually there’s nothing wrong with being a clay pot. It’s just that all of us have the possibility of beocming porcelain. And it isn’t quite so simple as just being fired or not being fired. Some of us explode in the kiln. Some of us collapse before we ever reach the kiln, and some of us develop horrible cracks that seriously threaten out utilitarian value. Yet probably the saddest response is to have gone through the firing and to refuse to become porcelain. All of us have furnaces in our lives. Not all of us glean the lessons from the firing. Bummer! Best laid plans and all that. Do you have a good guess as to why she exploded? For next time?
Appropriate quote.
Looks like part of your plans for the day will be emptying the kiln. 🙁 If you can stand to. It might take me a day or two.
This was very poignant…and very real. Sometimes the answer is No…sometimes that is hard to accept.
