Rescued again by nature. This poem made me get out of bed and writing it down this morning before I forgot it. Which was a good thing since it’s been a fun day out of the house then back to the house taking plants outside cleaning behind them, going out with the kiddos for a quick bite to eat. And here is sat in my journal just waiting for me to post. How easy is that. 22 days!!!!! 8 days to go and only 1 day missed (but several days have more than one poem and one has about 5, so I feel like I’m doing really well in my first try at a poem a day). How’s your day?
The Garden is as random as my life and
this gardner as optimistic and naive as a child
planning plots, preparing soil, planting seedlings,
marshaling sun, sky, water, bedside chats
urging the flowers to break out of their shell
like butterflies bursting into the bright air unfurling
their short lived glory as I stand by in awe.

Gardening is awe-inducing for sure! Love the exuberance in this one.
Really captures the joy of spring planting! Been waiting a long time this winter, it seems. 🙂
This made me smile. Beautiful piece. So much hope, promise, and joy in this piece. And “……urging the flowers to break out of their shell like butterflies…..” So wonderful.
