After a long, figid winter, the violas that looked dead dead dead, are back in profusion!

Apparently letting feelings out is a good thing.  I received a haiku in twilight sleep this morning telling me so:

The Day After the Day Before

Let the feelings speak
saying what they need to say
light conquers darkness

That is my offering for today.

For anyone who isn’t on my FaceBook and has not been following, here’s the background:  August of 2016 husband diagnosed with Gillian Barre – 1 week in hospital; July 2017 hit on his motorcycle – broadsided by a car:  1 month in hospital, 2 more months non weight baring wheelchair, 3 months crutches.  Four days after he was cleared for physical therapy from that, a diagnosis of throat cancer and 8 weeks of chemo once weekly and radiation M-F.  Today, this morning, was his last radiation.  In two weeks he will be reassessed and hopefully the throat cancer will be clear.  Meanwhile, he has something in his side discovered when doing catscans for the motorcycle accident, which everyone (but me) thought best to leave until after the throat.  Oh, and last August I moved us to our “new” house while he was bed bound from a house we’d been in for 24 years.  And he hadn’t packed his stuff .  But here we are on the cusp of having made it through.  Hopefully that will hold.

I’m going back and finding pictures for yesterday – I just posted a poem as I was in a hurry and busy but today I have space to rectify that.  So I will.

  • He has really been through hell! I hope all the worst of that physical torture is over with now.

You’ve been through a different kind of hell, too. One foot in front of the other we do what we have to do, but already you probably look back and wonder how you both got through all of this. I certainly hope the end is so close you can touch it!

    Love and hugs!! 🙂

  • A very long road to walk down. I know this. Love the Haiku. Always, love…
