Here’s a bevy of photos of my car packed to load in to ArtoMatic tomorrow. In addition to entertaining and astonishing you, the photos will also help me remember how and what I packed to get it all in when I have to load out. For some reason, loading out never goes the same as loading in and I need every square inch that is in this car (I’ve added a few things since I took the pictures. Hopefully, I won’t forget).
thought for the day: …while mastering technique is difficult and time-consuming, it’s still inherently easier to reach an already defined goal – a "right answer" – than to give form to a new idea. it’s easier to paint in the angel’s feet to another’s masterwork than to discover where the angels live within yourself. If technique were the core issue in art, our nominee for the Famous Artists Wax Museum would be the lifer a San Quentin who spent twenty years constructing a perfect replica of the Eiffel Tower from toothpicks. (And well, yes, in its own way it was pretty impressive!) But that’s not the way it works. Simply put, art that deals with ideas is more interesting than art that deals with technique.

Thanks for the update to the quote – normally I put the author afterwards, don’t know why I didn’t this time. And that book is definitely one from which I draw inspiration!
The quotation about the San Quentin inmate who made the Eiffel Tower replica comes from Art and Fear by Bayles and Orland.
My response was the same as Jana's: Wow! I'm always impressed/inspired when I come 'visit' you–
I'm back in the groove, over here–apparently deadlines are good for me!
