Torso:  Empty Nest, slab rolled, hand-built ceramic wall sculpture with found objects by Tammy Vitale.

Look what the post brought:  nests so I could finish Torso:  Empty Nest.  Ok.  so that is a rock dove (pigeon) egg in an Eastern Wood Peewee’s nest but I only know that because Magic Helping Hands, who sent these along with the ones below, told me so.  And I’ll wager you wouldn’t know either.

Do I have to tell you how excited I am to be able to finish this piece already?  And have left overs?  Look at what else she sent along:  Garden Oriole’s nest (the most fabulous thing I’ve ever seen!), gold finch nest (which looks like what I used in Hope is a thing with feathers) and a robin’s nest.  If you visit her blog, The Havens, you will see why she can collect all these wonders.  She has a garden (gardens) to die for!  If, like me, you love beautiful gardens, then click over and visit and enjoy!

Now I have to think about the perfect piece for the Garden Oriole’s nest.  Isn’t it just wonderful?!

I have scheduled myself out of the house at 9 a.m. so I am preposting this to make sure I get it out before I have to leave.

This is what blogging gets for you:  a whole community of folks ready to share what they have and you need.  I love the blogging world!  What else would you call this but Grace?

thought for the day:  Intentions shape Light.  They set Light into motion.  Each intention – anger, greed, jealousy, compassion, understanding – sets energy into motion, sets patterns of Light into motion.  Physical matter is the densest or heaviest level of Light….Every physical form, as well as every non-physical form, is Light that has been shaped by consciousness.  No form exists apart from consciousness….The physical reality of the Earth school is shaped by the decisions of those who are in it.  Gary Zukav, The Seat of the Soul

The garden oriole's nest brought tears to my eyes! It's magical – I'm glad it's in your hands; I know you'll do right by it!

  • wonderful torsos! sue makes a great point about looking down and not up.

  • That oriole nest is just so perfect! For as many orioles as we have around here, I have yet to ever spot a nest. I know they're here, but well hidden. Lately, I've been so focused on looking down at what's growing out of the earth, and intent on watching all the furry & feathered things hanging around, maybe I should change strategy & look up for a change, and maybe find some nests!
