Mask_tigers_eye_final Mask:  Tiger’s Eye, hand-made, unique, ceramic, stone and wood wall sculpture, 22.5"t x 10"w, by Tammy Vitale, $145.

Running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get everything together to go see Linda today and drop off work on the way.  As you can see here, Tiger’s Eye has morphed from what I showed you in my previous post.  The picture is blurry and I’d fix that except I’ve already packed the mask off into the car.  The driftwood really finished it and I put semi-precious stones with it too:  citrine and I simply cannot remember the name of the green stone.  It’s going to the Arts Council of Calvert County’s show instead of Myth.  I really like the feel of it finished this way – and it just sort of happened as a by-the-way-let’s-see-what-this-looks-like…always the best final product.

The other piece is actually Hope is the Thing with Feathers (far right), which I do believeTorso_hope_is_front_2 Torso_empty_nest_full   I misnamed here (if I named at all and I don’t remember) as Empty Nest which is currently hanging at the British Ink tattoo studio show.  I can’t even keep my own work straight.   That could be bad, or it could be that I’m turning out so much work right now that it’s just hard to keep track of and that would be good, so I think I’ll take the good and run with it.

Speaking of running (which runs, ahem, through this whole post), I ran over to Heron’s Way Gallery (below left) to put in some new small work which you can see better if you click the picture below so you can see the enlargement.  I forgot to take individual pictures of these new prose tiles, which I should just to have for my portfolio, but alas, I did not.  If they don’t sell, I’ll have to try to remember to get a picture of them later.  And I probably need to make some more (next week in the studio, maybe) because I really like the way they turned out and I’m guessing they’re going to be popular.

Now I need to run out and change the CDs in my car’s CD player and then hope that when I reload it will play – it’s been around a long while and tends to get temperamental but I would like some new music on the way to Virginia today.  I’m hoping to get out of here, on the road, not lost, and arrive before the real heat of the afternoon takes hold since they are calling for around 100 degrees and have I mentioned that I don’t have AC in my car?
