I’ve talked about Cambridge before. I love this little town. (Here’s a blog from my own solo show several years back at Joie de Vivre Gallery).
This weekend the ArtGalPals (4 of us) took a day trip to visit Joie de Vivre’s latest Gallery opening which just happens to be themed around mosaics. This show continues through September.
Have I mentioned I love mosaics?
Okay – Cambridge isn’t ready to rival Philadelphia’s Magic Garden yet but there are enough mosaics scattered in the town and especially in the Gallery to make a visit necessary for those just learning the beauty of mosaics.
I am sad to say that I did not get pictures of all the artists (and I’m hoping that my captions show up on the new improved WordPress which I seem to have to use “Gallery” style photos on instead of one at a time).
One of the misses is Cragie Succop – I thought I had more pictures but apparently I did something after the first batch and lost several or never took them. (Do click over – you won’t be sorry!)
Anyways, Enjoy! And some of the pieces are still for sale at Joie de Vivre so if you see something you can’t live without call Joy, the owner, and let her know. I will say things were absolutely flying off the wall when we were there for the reception – and one of us brought something home too! Well, if you count books, 3 of us brought something home! Book to drool over: Mosaic art and style: Designs for living environments by JoAnn Locktov.

The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created – created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them changes both the maker and the destination.
