The face focal on this necklace is handcast using the sand casting method, a metal focal to push into the sand and non-leaded solder. Made it at a class and fell in love with how easy it is to do. I made this necklace for today’s offering for Art Every Day Month.
Made a few more then did this freehand style using a symbol I created in a class with Mary Anne Radmacher in the 2014 Life is a Verb Camp.
It’s backward since I always forget when stamping or casting that you have to do a mirror image.
That’s a finishing cabochon of turquoise – lucky I found one to fit.
Were I to do this again, I would cast by drawing around a stone I had already chosen so it would fit perfectly. But these were from a class and it was a learning experience and now I know better!

Really beautiful! 🙂
Golly, Tammy. This first necklace is absolutely beautiful. Simply stunning.
I also get confused at times and forget which way things have to be positioned. Still, your piece turned out great.
