Art Every Day Month – day 14 – Dragonflies!

Today’s offering (early morning no less because it is so easy!) is a cast focal for a necklace.  I used 2 dragonfly buttons to cast, along with a spiral shell bead.  I build a little mound to make an integral hole to attach it to the necklace.  If I’m focused (big if some days), I’ll get this made into a necklace before the end of the month.

The metal, torch melted in a small crucible, is unleaded solder.

It takes a few minutes for the solder to cool.  Then I paint it with Silver Magic.

  • You amaze me with your many, many talents. This is something I don’t foresee being able to do, because I don’t have the equipment. However, I am in LOVE with the finished piece, as well as your showing the process. You truly know what you are doing with this, because this turned out great!
