Art Every Day Month 2018 (AEDM2018) – Days 27 and 28

Art Every Day Month 2018 (AEDM)

Playing catchup and finally caught up!

Day 27

Daughter says if your food is colorful then it is healthy.  I’m getting a head start on starting to eat healthily again after 2 years of crazy life stuff and not caring.  I have decided to care.  Hubby and I started morning smoothies yesterday after well over a year of not having them.  We went grocery shopping and filled the basket up with good organic food.  This skillet (in the featured image)  is  lunch for me:  bok choy, cherry tomatoes, red cabbage, portobello mushrooms, onion, garlic, oil with ginger in it for flavoring, fake meat sprinkles.  It was filling and tasty.

Day 28

Uninspired I decided to play with anything that was immediately at hand where I have my laptop set up (the dining room table for the time being as the dog, who is old, gets upset if I go downstairs to my office and leave her up here, and can’t settle in the basement).  This is what came of it:  pasted stuff for background, more stuff for background.  I only have turquoise paint up here so turquoise it was, and markers.  Then I played with the edit for the final one – I don’t usually do that but realized you can really come up with something totally different than what you started with.  All of this done in about 45 minutes.  No thinking allowed.

included the work area so you can see my mess
I have copies of old work in a file for collaging – the zentangles are from a copy, not original to this piece.
what I wound up with.  Interestingly, the gold at the neckline and the red mouth are not in the original – something about the light and the way I took the picture I guess.

and this is the final from edit.  Which I like!

And there you have it.  After running behind for a few days I am now all caught up.

  • Cath – my daughter says “eat the rainbow” all the time. Red cabbage really ups the quotient of color. 🙂

I think in collage process is as important as finished product, that’s why when I’m posting I always try to bring in the process. The final finished clip on this surprised me in a good way. I learned I’ll have to think about that more often.

I have been having a catch up as well, I love how the page turned out, a beautiful face.
Your food also looked delicious, I love veg and yes the colours make them so appealing.

  • Love the way this turned out – I’d never have guessed if you hadn’t shown us! Poor doggie… give him a kiss from me 🙂

Your food looks amazing. Someone said we should ‘eat a rainbow’ and I often do that with raw veggies… right now it’s soup time over here and I’m loving it!

    Have a great day, Tammy.

  • i love that final clipping so much, you really chose a good excerpt! it was nice to follow your work.

  • I hope this means I’m caught up, too.

I’d love to eat like that every day. Your lunch DOES look good. Presentation is as important as taste, I believe.

Creating that collage with what you had on hand was genius. I was completely impressed. I like both the original and the edited piece, too. Super job, dear.
