Here’s a quick and fun project that yields something nice enough for gifting and won’t cost an arm and a leg -and just in time for the holidays, too!
The votive candle holder here is made from 4 pieces gathere at the local thrift store”
1 champagne glass, inverted
1 salt cellar or anything squarish
1 small tubular vase (preferably with color)
1 votive candle holder.
1 tube of Plumbers Goop (purple or magenta stripes)
Directions: stack and glue. Let the glue dry for 24 hours between adding pieces. Watch for sliding.
That’s it!
Because thrift stores are such treasure troves of all kinds of pieces, you can readily see the potential for a plethora of candleholders, perhaps 12 or so for candle light soaks in the tub with a good book and great smelling infusion or lavendar epson salts. Use 1 or 2 to drink wine by on a rainy winter evening (when it will be dark thank to the time change. Have I mentioned I hate the time change?). Buy scented votives for spice holiday envirenmnent creations.
Enjoy!

took me a minute to figure out who this Fiona was who had my art. 😊
Thanks, you comment made me smile and I really needed that this morning.
What a cool idea!!!
Side note, since the pic at the top looks strangely familiar (hehe) I will also tell you that visitors to my cubicle comment on one of two things: 1. How on earth do I work with so many papers around? 2. Oh I love that painting! Did you do that? (Nope, Tammy V did. You should check out her page…)
And I also hate daylight savings time.
thank you!
Oh Tammy, this is SO clever. I adore it, and being a big recycler, I think it is a wonderful project. I’ve done something similar with clay pots, but never glass. It’s beautiful.
BTW, why not save your drink related post and share it with us for T time next Tuesday. Photos can be taken at any time and it would be a great AEDM entry, too.
