My final offering for Art Every Day Month: 2 bracelets for daughter on stretchy bands. She picked out the beads our last wholesale foray (that’s our girls’ day out – beads shopping). She loves these big bulky things. I have enough leftover beads to make two more.
I also started to make necklaces of the focals I showed yesterday and my crimp tool broke and I’m out of crimps anyways. I guess I wasn’t supposed to work on jewelry last night. Wasn’t in the mood for sea nettles so I watched “Scrooged” on tv with hubby and drank chai tea sweetened with a splash of egg nog.
I am really proud that I made a commitment to myself this for for AEDM and met it. And it met my with lots of new creative ideas: sea nettles, Taliswomen, ceramic focals (all shapes and sizes). I notice that in order to move into this new creativity and new lines, I had to fall back on coloring book pages to open the energy path. I’ll have to remember that next time I get stuck. Or maybe just go back and color as I only colored in two of the pages I made.
It was fun that some others joined in with the coloring book pages and shared. Remember that this page is always open for you to post your coloring book pages, whenever you finish them. I love seeing what others are doing!
Today I am going to spend some time sitting with this creative energy and seeing if it has anything to tell me about the coming year. 2011 is right around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about my word for the year (or half year since I changed from “extraordinary” the first half of this year to “sashay” for the 2nd half which seemed more leisurely and assured. Extraordinary got to feeling a bit frantic after a while! Ordinary is good. Ordinary opens a space to receive instead of always pushing ahead to the next thing. Ordinary has time to reflect without hiring someone to do it for you when you are busy doing your highest return on investment work. Ordinary involves play. Lots and lots of play.
Ordinary is collecting quotes and putting them up for Wylde Women’s Wisdom subscribers. And getting daily emails about how “today’s was just what I needed.” As a matter of fact, I got a one this morning, and it was one of my own quotes, and in addition to the really nice note from a Wylde Sister, I got a reminded I need myself right now. The Universe reflecting what I know back to me. Maybe that is what I’ll use for next year: ordinary. (and that’s how I write my way to answers. ;]).
How do you get ready for the New Year? Because here comes 2011. Or do you consider every day the first day of a New Year? We are only tethered to human-conceived calendars if we let ourselves be. We are only tethered to any story (including those we make up ourselves), if we choose to be (consciously or unconsciously). “Conscious” would be a good word for the year too! Maybe I’ll just to a word a month.
If you need a boost in your art business, check out my e-courses: Sell Your Art, Keep Your Soul. If you neeed a boost, I’m available for coaching – I have a great 5-week jump-start program. All of my coaching is tailored just for you, affordably one-on-one because one size does not fit all.
Want some how-tos to start into December with (gifts or an extension of AEDM playtime)? Get my ecourses on Making a Spirit Doll and Wire and Resin focals for jewelry. And don’t forget my Coloring Book if you enjoyed the coloring pages at the beginning of the month.
Leisure time: here are some books to feed your Wylde soul.
Stay in touch all you AEDMers! I’m going to be going back and browsing because these last two weeks have been rather crowded and I didn’t have time to go visit like I did the first two weeks. Will be talking to you!
Wylde Women’s Wisdom
[this is the quote that came back to me this morning through a Wylde Sister’s email message]
We make our own world.
What are you missing because you’re so sure
that everything is just so?
What grace are you leaving on the side of the road
because you are rushing to the next proof of how bad things are
and how you can’t possibly succeed because [fill in the blank]?
Stop.
You have the power to rewrite your story.

Thanks, Anne – and I yours!
I post Tues, Thurs and Sat as a norm and am dropping back to that. So today is a new post day!
Ran over to your site and saw your granny square bracelet. Awesomeness for sure!
I’ve really enjoyed your blog this month. Great to have found you during AEDM!
Yay for creating every day this month, Tammy. You’ve been an inspiration!
Wow – incite to insight! That’s awesome!!! As an inciter myself I know how that leads to seeing yourself better. AEDM has been marvelous this year, hasn’t it?! Look forward to on going contact! (and that so sounds like a great title for a blog pots)
I’ve so enjoyed visting you during AEDM. I’ll be following for sure. I chose Incite as my word this year, but I think it transformed into Insight! I had forgotten about it, but now I’m full of ideas for a word for the new year!
I’ve really enjoyed all of your beautiful posts during aedm. And I also created every day this month! I like your word of the month idea. And I’m going to look into your spirit dolls, they look intriguing.
With the newest little one’s arrival at the end of Oct, this is the first year I didn’t do either AEDM or NaNoWriMo for even a while, but just chose to do an “ordinary” November. Though I especially missed the AEDM experience this month, it was a good time to let my inner lands lie fallow for a bit.
I let the ball drop on the word for this past year – I can’t even remember what it was now! Was it change? It’s certainly been a year of change. This next year, I like the idea of choosing a word a month.
Linda: I’ve been playing with AEDM for 4 or 5 years. The only other year I did it all the way through was the first year. But I needed a kick and I knew this would (and it did!) do it.
If you have questions about the modules for Sell Your Art, Keep Your Soul, email. Your work, by the way, needs to be out in the world. It is amazing.
Tammy, you’ve so much in this post, i don’t even know where to start….congrats on finishing up aedm…i did it last year and just couldn’t this time…it’s almost grueling but in a good way…i am going to look into your not lose your soul but sell your art thing…i need to see some of my work, make a bit of money if at all possible yet everything in me says NO! mostly things from the past coloring the now but still…a bother and definitely stopping progress from happening, if you know what i mean. Love your bracelets by the way. xoxox
