For AEDM 24 I have been playing with recycle sheets of copper thin enough to easily snip but heavy enough to make good focals. These are really fun to make as they allow me to play with no intended outcome – the whole point of Art Every Day in my opinion!
I visited with the Bead Boutique yesterday to drop off some ceramic heart focals I made for them. They’ve sold out of all of the oval ceramic focals I took them – great news! So I will make more of them (I just made a few to test the waters).
I have, as I mentioned earlier, dozens of little caps for seanettles drying on the rack. I did all of my Thanksgiving shopping yesterday (thank goodness since hubby’s warm motorcycle clothes got messed up in the deer wreck, and the clutch went out in our 2nd car as he came up the driveway home last night – at least both things happened very close to home!), and Hubby will take the other car today, so I will just plan to play in the studio, creating a bunch of new things for the 3 upcoming shows:
Maker’s Mart at AnnMarie Garden Dec 4, First Night in North Beach at SeaScapes Home Accents and Gifts Dec 10, and Prince Frederick Art Walk Dec 11. In there somewhere I need to get back to Julia’s up on the Island and swap out some jewelry in their new gift shop, and over to Leonardtown Galleria and swap out everything and put in some sea nettle tree ornaments (which of course has to wait until they’re actually made). So I have a busy few weeks of art coming up.
I also plan to play some more with the copper sheeting and etching for focals like the ones pictured here: steampunk influenced. And also for earrings. I like multiple dangles with the copper.
If you aren’t planning on visiting tomorrow, let me wish all of my readers a lovely, safe Thanksgiving Day with time to pause with gratitude for everything in our lives – especially our loved ones! I’ll have Daughter’s family and her Mom in Law. My offering for tomorrow will be the centerpieces made of pumpkin and flowers I have made for 2 years now for Daughter and her Mom in Law. Bought the flowers for that yesterday from Solomon’s Florist and they’re beautiful!
When you’re thinking of your holiday buying, do think “local.” Wherever you are there are artists making one of a kind items that are beautiful, full of creative energy and often less expensive than mass made imports. Support your local artists! So they can continue to support you and your environment with things to lift your spirit.

If this were easy, we’d already be there. Which means “there is not important. “Here” right where we are is where all the good stuff is happening. Don’t forget to say thanks to those around you for being a part of you “here.” Tammy Vialte
