Here are the first finished Taliswomen. I am in love with the mixing of media – in this instance, beads, copper and ceramic. I like having art around me that reminds me to take a breath, that I am connected to everything, that my life is directed by my choices minute to minute. I like sun catchers. These pieces do all of that for me – so much so that my plan is to expand the line with larger pieces. I have already gone in the other direction. You can see the Taliswomen necklace below. I am really really happy with these pieces (I have two others waiting to be finish, and one that broke before firing that I am going to work on and see if I can finish her for myself).
Along with my Sea Nettles, this makes the 2nd new line introduced during Art Every Day Month 2010. What does that say about focusing on creativity daily, by choice? Lots!
I am sure you all have heard of The Secret: believe and you receive. (They left some parts out of that whole Secret thing – but I think the general culture is now coming around to understanding that!)
When you consciously focus your mind (your intention), you are also giving your energy a direction. Instead of its circulating around and around you, making you dizzy, or restless, you give energy a path to follow. And it’s off! That simple (and that difficult).
And it doesn’t hurt that, at least during this month, I get to reconnect with folks I have met in

previous AEDMs as well as get to know folks I chat with on FB better as they do the same thing I’m doing. It’s a GREAT community.
And all I have to do is show up!
There was a lot more, but wordpress just erased it. I’m going with imperfection here. And when I first published it, it deleted a picture and squashed all the writing together. Out pixies! or not out – onward.

Carla – re Brene Brown – yes, isn’t that amazing? I’m on about the same time schedule as you – I just bought her book on imperfection. Turns out I already had one by her (I thought it was just me) but I can’t get into that one. So her star apparently wasn’t ready yet to rise. Funny how that happens!
The Temple calendar syncs again! Our topic this evening was exactly the thoughts express in Brene Brown’s quote. I first heard of her a month ago, and she is everywhere I turn now. Thanks, Tammy. The Taliswomen are wonderful and joyous!

Charlotte: do you have a fleur de lis stamp? If you have one and can share it long enough
for me to make you one.
And yes, I take custom orders.
If you don’t have a stamp send me a good picture of a fleur de lis and I can size it and use that to trace (it’s a symettrical design(or however you spell it). Not my strong suit).
