Last Friday I went to the opening of The Bead Boutique in Prince Frederick, MD, owned and operated by my friend Tricia Darrow.

If everyday is as good as this day, she’s struck a gold mine! (That’s Tricia and the store mascot, her go everywhere companion, Zeus.)

One women came in squeeling:  oh!  I saw the sign go up and told my husband we had to stop!  He said "no" come back by yourself, so I did.  I am SO EXCITED you are here!  Now I don’t have to travel to Bowie and Silver Spring!

Tricia has been selling her jewelry in Southern Maryland for about 4 years.  I met her early on when she joined the Wylde Women for a gazebo show on Solomon’s Island.  That day’s sales forshadowed her success. 

Tricia makes necklaces with semi-precious stones, works in precious metal clay and teaches classes in both.  I love her work.  She loves my work.  We have traded pieces much to my pleasure.

In addition to being an amazing jeweler, Tricia is a kind and generous spirit.  I wish her all the success she is apparently going to get!

Below are some pictures from her shop where she will be selling beads, teaching classes, helping one-on-one for walk-ins and selling her own and other local artists’ necklaces, bracelets and earrings.  And, oh yeah, my art too (including, you will note, several pieces from AEM).
