Madrid: rocks and cactus pad print $20 Tammy Vitale

I’ve been collecting great reads for you from around the web.

It’s summer.  Time to slow down and refill the old tank of inspiration and creativity.

Some of this is practical head stuff, some is connection for your heart and some for inspiration.

These photos aren’t counted in the 7 things, but you could count them (which would mean I overdelivered – that makes me happy – hope it makes you happy too!).  All are a part of the filling up I did while out in Santa Fe.

(You will remember I was out  trekking (as opposed to “retreating”) earlier this month.)

So much so that I’ve come home and started clearing out all of my spaces so I have room to spill out all this creative energy!

I’ve already been playing with jewelry, but the crowning jewel for me is

getting my hands in the mud.  If I’m a good girl today and rework my recent Sell Your Art Keep Your Soul program down into modules, I get to clean my clay studio (the last space that needs it) and start getting down to serious play.

1.  Tama Kieves now has a blog.  Sweet Mother of Prarie Dogs could anyone ask for anything better?!  Here’s one on Mothering Ourselves

  1. 2.  For your garden:  a live chair.  I fell in love with this the moment I stumbled across it and mean to have something like this in my garden before the year is out.  I even have the perfect little trailing plant that is an amazing grower and no I don’t know it’s name – the plant.  The chair I would name AWESOME.

3.  June McConnon’s blog on aging (not your grandparents rocking chair for sure).  This one called Diving InThis because I ran across a FB friend the other day who was ready to take on the dictionary definition of crone – and it wasn’t “wise woman.”  I’m not my mother at 62.  Neither are my friends.  It’s time to define ourselves!

4.  I love Brooke Castillo – she writes mostly on weight but her method is so universal it holds for anything.  She’s got this amazing book, Self Coaching 101, that should be on every one’s bookshelf.  Here she asks, Who’s controlling youAfter you read it, let me know!  Thought provoking!

5.  For your heart:  Ruth Davis’s Coming Back to the Why.  Absolutely gave me shivers – her writing is present, and true and remarkably courageous.   Go Ruth!

6.  For those of you who want to escape the corporate world, and don’t yet know Pam Slim who wrote Escape from Cubicle Nation, here’s a blog from her.

7.  For the practical you:  a YouTube on how to update WordPress to the
