Brinigng i nthe plants 1It is that time of year when I have to bring in Bringing in the plants 3the plants.

Bringing in the plants 2It is a major undertaking and going slower than usual because we are busy busy busy. (I have no idea how this typing and the photos are going to turn out as Typepad is giving me some trouble – imagine that! – about placement…I hope it's readable!)  the plants have grown over the years, and multiplied.  And in the winter we have a veritable jungle clearing out our interior air.  I do believe it's going to be difficult this year since I have discovered that I can save impatiens over-winter by bringing them in.

Another happy thing:  I have added Mud, Wind & Fire to the shops which represent me – all you Californians in reasonable distance of the Pier in San Francisco may now go visit.  And be sure to tell Robin I sent you, and say "hi!"

Finally, (amazing) author  Melissa Marr  (most recently: Ink Exchange,  and also:  Wicked Lovely) has ordered a 2nd piece from me.  She is now a collector (as am I of her books – great fantasy read!)

I am all weekend at Patuxent Appreciation Days (PRAD) on Solomons Island, and am working away from home 3 days a week now with no access to computer.  This has seriously cut into my computer time!  But it is all for the good, and I am a happy camper, with things finally seeming to fall into place – like ware orders dropping in out of the blue.  Very nice.  Thank You, Blue!

AAaaaaannd (oh, this is four – oh well, bonus!), next Tuesday is go play with glass and make beads day.  In truth, could anyone have a better life?!

thought for the day:  When we work, we learn.  There is someting boring about someone who has never done anything with book learning.  Indeed, that person's knowledge is quite limited.  We learn much more by doing,.  Testing oneself against the limitations of material, time, and skill is critical to self-development.  It is important to do the type of work that leads not simply to production, but to skill.  In other words, the most important type of work is the kind that results from one's life, not from societal or economic pressures.  When we work as part of life it leaves a profound residue in our personality.  it produces an attitude of accomplishment, an accumulation of working wisdom impossible to botain any other way.  Deng Min-Dao, Everyday Tao:  Living with Balance and Harmony

  • At last, I'm back to catch-up some more. LOVE all those plants – it must be like having a conservatory in the wintertime (I've always loved the idea of those stately old mansions with conservatories – genteel on the outside, but with a patch of wilderness inside of them).
The new work is great, Tammy! Wish we were closer to the bay area – for this and a number of reasons!

  • Greetings Tammy!

What beautiful plants. I kill anything but Rosemary, Sage, and Lavendar :)…so my indoor plants are all made of silk :).

We go to San Fransisco often, so send me some info. I would love to see your pieces in real life!

  • it's been too long. hello!!

congrats on the sale and on the beautiful life you are leading. 🙂

so many plants! it looks like you live in a greenhouse! very cool!

  • Hi Tammy!
Isn't it nice sometimes to be so busy with good things happening in your life? 🙂
I thought I might bring my geraniums in this winter. My sister by marriage did that last year and they came back really nice for this summer. I'm cheap so I just might do that. I had a neighbour by the name of George that used winter impatients every year. He always enjoyed great success with them.
They were just stunning year after year. So good luck with the impatients and have a great week!
