Pages 3 and 4, altered book, I Came in From the Garden, and Which Way Home, by Tammy Vitale

I am preposting these on Thursday for Friday since I will be on my way to my West Virginia weekend conference on the environment Friday morning.  An adventure as I will be driving roads I haven’t driven before.  I am glad the bad weather is coming through today.  Traveling in nasty heavy rain and wind would not be fun.  It’s supposed to breeze through today, Thursday and Friday promises to be clear if finally seasonably cool/cold (since I"m going into the mountains.

The title of page 3, I came in from the garden, is taken from a different poem than the verse.  I have a series of Eve allusion poems.  The verse reads:  Here is where redemption begins,/white teeth on red, wetness dripping,/the quiet click of a turned lock/in a once closed gate opening outward. The background incorporates parts of the original page – that’s the yellow patterns you see breaking through.  Both pages incorporated pieces of the watercolor pages I was playing with last week.

Which Way Home‘s verse reads:  If white is the presence of all colors,/ is silence the sound of all spoken words?/And if the answer is yes,/does that mena if I do not wish to be silent,/must I learn how not to speak?
