Nasturtium pot Nasturtium pot, Ocracoke Island NC, June 08 by Tammy Vitale

Okay – typepad is at it again (trying to take their suggestions for getting type to come faster but their popup window won’t hold still so I can close it and activate the suggestion), and I (operator error this time) just erased a whole post talking about “what’s next” and “what I really want.”  I guess that means I have some more work to do before I’m ready to put that out into the world.

So instead I’ll share this peacefully lovely photo from my Ocracoke vacation in June along with some of the great blogs I’ve had the pleasure to visit as a result of the Wylde Women Award.

My original thought was that I would be able to visit all the awardees and leave a comment, but that isn’t going to happen unless I want to make a full time job of it.  The Award has indeed begun to circle the planet as you will see when you click through the few that I’ve chosen (this isn’t a contest – I randomly picked representative blogs to show what I’m getting).

So grab a cuppa, settle in and take some time to browse this one aspect of the internet community:  card makers and scrapbookers.

Liz at The Crimson Moon

Edleen at Java Scrapper  (Singapore – my first from there!)

Connie at Konny Kards

Nicks at Nicks Arty Stuff

And here’s another for good measure that has a lovely post by Carol Wiebe  of Silver Spring Studio on creating a PDF with a link to Ariadne Weaver’s Sacred Webs and Spirals (had to pass this along – you will note that my blog critter is a spider named Ariadne…go look it up those of you who don’t know your calssical mythologies).

Thanks to all who’ve stopped by to comment on my blog.  Rest assured I’m working on visiting everyone, but this is moving exponentially and that makes it close to impossible.  But then doing the impossible simply takes longer than doing what’s very hard.  Please be patient with me!

You will note that I’ve managed (it took two days and researching typepad’s how tos and a specific query to them – typepad does do answers to questions well) to get a linked photo in my side column.  Many of you do this regularly and think nothing of it.  It’s a first for me and I’m proud that I managed.  Focus and persistance – and isn’t that all it ever takes?  (and enough time, but that was the post that got erased, so maybe more about that later).

thought for the day:  The Great Goddess was a trinity:  maiden, mother, and crone.  Immortal and eternal, she was each and all aspects of the feminine.  She was many and she was One.  She was the Great Goddess with a myriad of names.  She was worshiped as the feminine life force; all life came from her body and returned to her.  She was an embodiment of nature, as the creator, sustainer, and destroyer of life.  She was like the moon in her cycles, and like the earth in her seasons.  All living things were her children which meant that all life [my note:  not just human life] shared something of her divine essence.  Jean Shinoda Bolen, Goddesses in Older Women:  Becoming a Juicy Crone

  • OK, Tammy, I have to ask: am I an awardee, or did I simply have a lovely post? It wasn't clear to me. Ariadne had the idea: I just passed it on. So if I get the bronze instead of the gold, at least I'm on the podium! Or am I the one who ran with the torch after it was passed to me?
