Wylde Abundance

I have, of course, been spending a lot of time browsing the lovely blogs coming my way through the Wylde Women Award.

I am going to share more random blogs here so you can delight along with me.  Tracey of Ratty Tattys’ Paper (I already put her link up on the last WW list, but I’ll repeat it here because she’s very much worth visiting!) has also given the award back to me, so I will have the pleasure of bestowing it myself (but that will have to wait since this is a long list and more than enough for one blog).

Here we go! (This time I’m not sending you to just the Wylde Women page – you should see the rest of the blog).  Be sure to say “hi” in their comments and let them know you came as a result of the award to browse – OK?!

Jades Funkijunk – ever seen domino necklaces?   awesome!

Stampsmith – more domino art how to – just because I’m smitten with the idea and the results

My Studio 13 - make sure to scroll down to her “I Am Strong” piece and further yet to her handmade journals which are delicious.

Mozi Esme – the day to day adventures of a 1 year old American bebe growing up in Mozambique.  Mozambique!  Lots of Mom and Bebe art – much fun!

The Beauty of Life – quiltmaking, embroidery, stumpwork (?), crewelwork – wonderful!

Roz’s Bloggy Blog – she shares jokes and life.  She’s funny and enjoyable and a great place to spend a few minutes to start the day in a really good mood.

Hysteri-cal – she pointed me to Roz and shares the same wylde sense of humor and joy of life.  She does great crafts, too.

Visual Influence: Mail art!  what a GREAT idea!  I want to start a Mail Art roundabout – but not today…later, after I name my Wylde Women Awardees – maybe that chain can do mail art.  But go see it for now.  I found This blog through a comment on Sue Piper’s blog (Sue got the original WW award that started all this).

Voodoo Vixen’s Lair:  Scrap Happens Here – it’s enough to go and just see her header with all its lovely african masks.  But I’m point you to her “Wear Sunscreen” handmade book because we’ve linked to her on Body Politics – it’s an thought provoking work and deserves to be shared around.

Piken – alas, I do not understand the Finnish language, but I do understand the skillful cross-stitching (which I have never had the patience to do) and want to share her lovely works.  I tried leaving a comment but failed – hopefully she will find this!

My Life in Pictures – I have chosen a particular blog on Kathy’s original work made for her mother made of cloth and family heirloom buttons and lace.  But be sure to go back and enjoy the whole blog.

Sweet Somethings By Lois – this one arrived just this morning and I chose the piece on “How to wake up at 3 oclock in the morning” because it made me spray coffee when I was reading it.  Browse her side bar stuff too.  Enjoy!

thought for the day:  Wholeness feels like gratitude.  Gratitude that we are safe and happy and together.  And for that, I must thank equally the foxes and the weasels, the tigers and the crocodiles.  for the peace of the barnyard, I am grateful to the dangers and jaws of the jungle.  For the belonging that is home, I can thank, in part, to the exile that is travel.  though they seem like opposites, they are more like twins – two halves of a whole.  Sy Montgomery, The Good Good Pig:  the extraordinary life of Christopher Hogwood  [note:  the discovery of this book is much like the Wylde Women Award.  Leah of Creative Every Day recommended Grayson about a whale and buying that, I got Amazon's "if you like xxxx then you'll like xxxx which happened to be this book, which has quickly risen to one of my all time favorites]

Hello Tammy, I've been awarded the Wylde Women award by Mary on Stitches and Ditches. I can't manage to the the picture though – probably because I've got a Mac. If you have the time could you send me the original logo, as that usually seems to work. Thanks.
