21 necklace for me!

Sorry about the blurred picture but it isn’t final anyways – didn’t get it finished as you can see by the end spring holding it all together.  It’s gonna be very pretty and it’s for ME!  I bought these beads at the Outer Banks this summer, along with the ones for the necklace yesterday.  So this is my Art for today!

Was up at 4:00 am to meet my friend at 6 to drive into D.C. for her company’s craft show.  It was very laid back for me because I didn’t have to drive either way, the law firm has these magnificent hand carts that we got to use, load in was a dream (2 trips with the carts), the day was very calm, I sold enough to make me happy and still leave enough work for EWomen Network, Nov 28, that I don’t have to make more little stuff (hooray), and I met another artist there who recognized my work from having seen it at ArtOMatic this past spring.  All in all a VERY good day!

But I am beat.  It is dark out.  My body is ready for bed and about 3 lines of the book I’m reading before I’m going to go deeply asleep.  Will try to catch up with comments tomorrow!  Thanks for being patient with me!

thought for the day:  If there is one thing we learned from women about their spiritual development, it is that clinging to ideals about how one ought to be blocks the gateway to mystery, while honoring what is personally true in each moment brings one into relationship with the sacred…following one’s inner guidance can involve risk.  This may be particularly true…if what we are being guided to do seems to threaten our personal relationships or what we have come to regards as our security in the world.  As the artist Meinrad Craighead [said} "Being open to the voice within is how your life happens.  Again and again, it plunges you into the unknown."  What is requires, it seems, is a willingness to commit yourself to the whole – known, unknown, and unknowable – and trust the path your indwelling truth is showing you.  Sherry Ruth Anderson and Patricia Hopkins, The Feminine Face of God

  • I feel like I'm coming back to life! I'm out and about in blogland, again…

I love this quote! Your quotes are always good, but this one really seems to strike a chord with me…

Gallery owner has all sorts of ideas for collaborations and marketing, and I know I need to be true to my instincts and say, "no, thanks," so you can see how apropos the quote is. I just need to be who I am.

But I'm not good at being outwardly strong.

I need to do some work on the business part of my work. Scary, but I'm inspired by seeing you doing it.

  • being open to the voice within … yes. this is so where i am at right now!!!

    beautiful necklace!!!!

you are super busy these days – jetting off here and there. good for you!

  • Those beads are beautiful! I am a sucker for things like that, and in another life with more time I would probably do bead work. Instead, I string rocks and plants together to make garlands for the earth.

  • The necklace is beautiful – and how wonderful a feeling it is, to make something just for you.

And hurray for handcarts – that is always a bonus to find, even with paintings, so I can imagine it's even more gratifying to find when loading in ceramics.

Hope you have a great weekend, Tammy!
