Sister of the Sea, hand and slab built clay torso by Tammy Vitale, Tam’s Originals
Here is the work I mentioned yesterday and forgot to put in I was so busy making links and checking them for yesterday’s post. This is the final Sister of the Sea with her olive shell necklace. I think it balances it better than before I put the necklace on.
Also here is the raku torso I made using the bas relief figure from my designer tile, Turtle Moon. I do have a copy of the in my file – see the tile and the torso below. I’ve had a problem with spriging bas relief figures onto torsos and rakuing in the past. The process has a tendancy to make sprigs (i.e., attached clay pieces) pop off. Am hoping this makes it through. I haven’t yet decided how to glaze it.
Am off to "do" the closing reception at Heron’s Way Gallery for my show "Seeking the DIvine Feminie" so this is necessarily a short post…enjoy!
