Vision Journal page by Tammy Vitale: Looking back over 2015 to Go Forward in 2016

Decided to multi-task today, doing a Vision page in my Vision Journal for my Art Every Day submission.

It’s that time of year to look back over what I’ve accomplished and think about what’s next.  I did a little of each in that I attended a webinar on real estate business planning for 2016 (it was ok, but the same thing I hear a lot of places:  much on the what, encouragement to figure out the why and not much at all on the how it comes together and methods and processes for accomplishing that.  Of course that may be the part they sell you.), and a good start on looking back with my vision page.

2015 saw me quitting a job working for someone else and trying to figure out what I had to do to keep from doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.  Hubby and I went away for our 30th Anniversary on Feb 14 (!! wow time flies), back to where we honeymooned at the Robert Morris Inn in Oxford, Md.  Over tea I was lamenting doing the same thing over and over and he suggested my becoming a Realtor.  That suggestion had been made to me I can’t tell you how many times since I was in my 20s and it never felt right.  This time it absolutely settled into my solar plexus and everything in me said yes.  And as synchronicity would have it, the start of the next local class to become an agent had been scuttled for snow and was starting the next week.  I took it, I passed it.  Onward.

Then the mayor of North Beach, Md. called me and asked me to do a commission for their new sculpture park.  He had hired me in 2006 to do what has become a rather iconic piece for the town’s board walk.  It was great to have this opportunity to remember that no matter what I am always an artist.  That was installed in September.

September also my first listing and sale (completed in just 29 days) as a Realtor, and my flying off to Monterey, CA, to participate in the third annual (my 2nd annual) Life is a Verb Camp headed up by Patti Digh, where I taught two very well received workshops on making spirit dolls, as well as inhaled energy for the next year.  That Camp is absolute magic.  It will be on the East Coast in North Carolina in 2016.  I can’t wait!  I also taught a Spirit Doll workshop here in Prince Frederick MD in the spring, partnered with WholeHearted Insight.

I also held 5 MeetUps for investors and bought my 3rd investment house in Ocala, Fl.  My son partners with us and manages all our houses in Florida (I wouldn’t do it as an absentee landlord).  That has been a good parntership for all of us!

Those are the highlights that come immediately to mind.  Now that I look back on it, it has been a very good year!  And I am planning for 2016 to reap what I have sown this year.  I can’t wait!

    Very nice!

  • Love from AEDM 2015 Trixie

  • It’s so good to see you again at AEDM. So glad to read what you have decided to do when not making art. Your spirit dolls always inspire me, so I’m glad you shared them with others in CA this year. And of course, your commission is wonderful. It will definitely be a welcome addition to the area of North Beach.

  • I have! and I didn’t realize it until I stopped for a minute to reflect. Reflecting is a good thing! and thank you!
