Joy is long hikes up a mountain in the quiet and scent of green and earth. Joy is body surfing on the waves. Joy is finding sand dollars on the beach. Joy is laughter and smiles and hugs. Joy is coming home to a house cleaned by someone else! Joy is tulips on the coffee table. And countless other little things!!

Loved this, Tammy!

Joy today was working with my Free Arts kids (www.freeartsaz.org) as they made MOOD SCULPTURES. They don't speak English so we moved our bodies to express how we felt, then twisted wire, covered it with a stocking and gessoed it to take the shape. Next week we will paint our Mood Sculptures, adding color to further express how we feel.

Joy! What a great word! Joy for me means snuggling up with a little white dog and an almost as furry husband ... anytime but especially while the snow is falling and the power is out. Joy is knowing and deeply feeling that you are loved unconditionally for who you are, not what you've accomplished. Joy is being able to celebrate your successes with others.
