Rise up and Sing, wire and resin focal on cording with glass and stone beads $47 by Tammy Vitale

What is it in women’s lives that tells them they are not enough?

As a coach, I am privileged to work with amazing women:  business owners, non-profit directors, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs.  They make me tired just telling me what they do on a daily basis.

And then they tell me they feel so inadequate.  They aren’t where they should be.  Their life is out of balance. They work longer and longer hours and the list of undones grows and grows.

Enough!

All of you amazing women reading this post – and you’re all amazing – I have this to say to you:

You are enough.

You do enough.

You have enough.

Where you are right this very moment is exactly where you are supposed to be.  And you can move from this space of wylde abundance into whatever space you wish to move.

So:

Be gentle with yourself.  If acknowledging all you do and celebrating it is harder than beating yourself up for that which is left undone, stop.  Take a breath.  If doing more and working faster hasn’t made you happier, why not try doing less – giving yourself room to reflect, renewing yourself with a 5 minute  trip outside to contemplate the starry night sky (bugspray in hand if required).  See:  5 minutes.  You take more time than that to stop for morning coffee and get your breakfast to go.  Take a birthday candle with you – stick it in your morning sandwich – and congratulate yourself for all you’ve done.  Voices about what is undone not invited.

When you talk to yourself, be nice.  Inside of each of us is a child-woman who  only wants to be loved.  Love her.  Not because she deserves it (which she does) but because you choose to honor all the wylde, quirky  imperfections she brings to this life journey.

You are enough.

You do enough.

You have enough.

Repeat as often as necessary.

Enough said.

Wylde Women’s Wisdom

Part of what gets in our way is that we tend to think of ourselves so concretely, as if we are fixed in stone.  Think of all the ways you stop yourself by saying something like, “Oh, I couldn’t do something like that.  I’m the kind of person who…I’m too…I’m not…”  What if you weren’t so sure you knew who you are?   What if deep inside, deeper than thought or guilt or worry, you told yourself you are a soul in wonder?  How would that change the way you live your life?     Dawna Markova

  • Hi Tammy – Funny coincidence, but I have a new blog post tomorrow titled: “What Is Enough?”. Slightly different from what you’re saying, but similar in other ways. Hope you’re well & enjoying you’re summer!
