thought for the day:  The utmost disordering prepares the way for the birth of new forms, new awareness of new depths and interpenetrations.  Destruction is desirable, not in the spirit of nihilism but in the knowledge of the regenerative process…"It is right that from time to time cataclysms occur which compel us to return to nature, i.e. to rediscover life." [Artaud]  …this is no more drastic than the practice of modern science to create power through the disintegration of matter…We cannot make a new situation unless we are prepared to let go of what we hold most dear.  And newness is not given by the succession of instants.  Substance may be changed, for example dissolved, by time; and yet its mineral character remain unchanged.  in order for substance really to change, there must be transformation in it character.  This is a matter of innerness..   M. • I love the colors you chose. They're really expressive.

As to the post, it's reminiscent of the Goddess Kali: the destoyer of worlds makes way for new worlds to be born.

I don't know though, post-modern perpectives question whether there is, or ever has been anything "new". In a way, everything that exists, even in art, is an amalgam of what came before.

Maybe there's a space where the two views can come together?

  • I love this mandala, great colours. Crayons! Yum, I think I'll get mine out too!

  • This post is sooooo where I am at right now. In fact I may pinch it to put on my blog tomorrow…

Tammy you really are the 8th wonder of the world! Well done with all you are achieving. BIG hug.

  • What a lovely mandala. It made me realize how long it has been since I sat down and did one of my own. I think I shall do something about that situation this evening after I have saunaed.
