Because the beginning of this month is packed, I’m going to prepost some art – not a lot of words. The posts will come daily and then I can play catchup over at Leah’s Art Every Day Month site. I’m going into my 8th year on this – doesn’t seem possible! Some years are better than others in terms of actually doing some art every day – it is always inspiring, always loosens me up and gets a bit further along in a book I started for art every day month years ago!
Here’s work from that book for November 2006 (time flies!):
And November 2007,( the year I started my Sacred series of torsos, each with its own story and necklace that you could take off and wear):
and no, it still isn’t finished….I think I keep it just so I have something to fall back on for days I am too rush or uninspired to throw myself into something. Still, it proves persistence in that it is turning into something that is fun to do and to have.
Here’s my offering for the start of AEDM this year, Bird Woman. I have just finished her today – put the charms in her hair.
Somehow, a trick of light that is interesting, she looks happier in the last photo than in the middle one. Maybe it was too cold and blustery for her outside!
This year is full of a lot of pieces I have been working with over periods of time – this has been the year for unfocus! Finally, now that it’s fall and I have no space left, I am starting to finish them one by one. enjoy!
