aedm 2017 journaling
Working on my Real Estate biz plan (yesterday’s picture bleedthrough on the left. This is my “everything” journal right now.)

Today’s real offering is what I woke up with at 4 a.m. (I hate the time change – it takes me forever to switch – up before dawn and asleep by 8…ugh):  working on my real estate business.

Husband’s accident, the move, fixing up our other house and finally getting it on the market (to a very slooooooooooow market unfortunately), and dealing with the sale to our cottage falling through have all left me not much time to deal with my own business.  I am finally ready to do that and have started off with review trainings.  I have to say RE/MAX One, my brokerage, has the best trainings I’ve had in real estate.  Period.  Every time I take a class withe them I learn something I should have learned before but didn’t.

The basic outline really isn’t that different than putting together my art business over the last 15 years (the last 5 of which I brought it all home and am still trying to find places for it in my downsized house – who knew I had so much work tucked everywhere in my old house.  Certainly not me).  I just have to fill in the general outline with specifics.  And this time also fill in that outline with personal and creative time.  I’m STILL trying to figure out how to balance things (here’s me on a YouTube video on why things don’t balance – the center never holds.  Seeing myself on video always freaks me out a bit.)

I also decided to share two snapshots….my mantra lately:  what I see around me and what I am experiencing is only a snapshot in time.  What you think you see isn’t always what truly is.  For instance, I like to think of vignettes as I put my house together form the move.  Here is one with two piece of my work and a favorit glass piece by Mary Ida Rolape of Heron’s Way Gallery in St Mary’s County, Md.

Nice corner vignette, right?  Well, this is the same corner from a different angle.  A creative vignette for sure, and tucked where no one can see it.  Eventually I’ll get to go back down into my office in the basement here, which is awesome, and take all this with me.  But for now, eveyrthing is done upstairs.  I expect that to start moving soon.

And those are my offerings and thoughts for today.  Off I go for more training.  Have a great day all of you all out there in Art Every Day land and everyone else too.

  • that snapshot thing is a real help to me….I remember that “this too shall pass” – it’s all a cycle.

  • I love the color you bring to the world as well as the thoughts. And this I know to be true “What you think you see isn’t always what truly is. ” A point of view, a way of thinking, new eyes and perspective after one bit of new information – I love that we can actually create things anew all the time.

  • Moving is overwhelming. I hope it goes smoothly for you guys. 🙂

  • I also love vignettes, but I don’t have any art I’ve made that I could put into something like you did. You have many beautiful pieces and I really like your mantra, too.

  • Maron, wow – that’s almost surreal! Thanks for the good wishes. To you and yours also.

  • I can relate to you on so many levels today. I’m a former ReMax Agent, my hubby just had surgery and I love to do vignettes in my house….lol Cute post! Lots of luck with it all, girl!!
