Family night at The Anthem in D.C. for Lindsey Sterling concert
Family night at The Anthem in D.C. for Lindsey Sterling concert (before the show – gson in the background on his phone.  What do you want?  He’s 15.  And oh boy is he 15.

fambly - anthem 4 of us

Family night out (me, daugher, gkiddos) at he Anthem concert hall to see Lindsey Sterling at the Wharf in D.C. – new venue (I saw opening night in this brand new venue, Foo Fighters there.).  (here she is playing one of the show songs – her dancers were in tutus and did a great, energetic ballet hip hop which isn’t, as you might think, an oxymoron).

Getting into the shows I want to see (few and far between) is a perk of husband having worked there for 25ish years and being a main guy. Another perk is VIP seating (not always but often enough to claim we get it)(we did last night).  It was fun. I took two videos that didn’t pick up sound for some reason – need the sound. The set scene was great and they used a lot of light projections to make it seem different. Very well done. She does do a good show.

AEDM2017 - day 11 - collage and crayon in art journal
AEDM2017 – day 11 – collage and crayon in art journal

Today’s Art Every Day offering is another collage in my art journal which is quite filling up.  When I was working on this I thought:  you’re being lazy.  This doesn’t take a lot of thought.  And then I thought:  no, you are doing something artsy every day and full blown I want to sell this or let me sit here and paste things together – either is just fine and really, the whole point of AEDM is “just do it.”  At least for me.  So I’m doing fine (including blogging every day – you go, Me!).

  • Hi All – yes, it was fun. Lindsey puts on a dynamite show and both kiddos enjoyed it, plus being in VIP means you can spread out and not be cramped. Toally enjoyable night!

  • I love seeing your family. Such loving energy in these photos, always.

A participant in AEDM2017 posted that she started something and didn’t have confidence and I thought of how often we all “assume” that our feelings of inadequacy are valid. We are all artists. The ones who shine are the ones who work to remove that shield of self-disbelief. Just my thoughts.

  • What a wonderful thing to spend time with family at a music event. Sounds like heaven to me.

And that collage is out of this world. I really, really like it.

  • Looks like a really fun time! 🙂
