Sw_heron_copper_patina clay designer tile, Heron, copper patina, by Tammy Vitale of Tam’s Originals.

Why I haven’t been posting regularly:

1.  stained 35 fish

2.  glued d-rings to 35 fish and 75 word tiles

3.  wired all of #2 after glue dried

4.  Mailed 4 sample fish with cover letter to Sandy Bay Gallery in Hatteras NC.

5.  Mailed 3 sample Elemental and Zodiac tiles with cover letter to Pea Island Gallery in Rodanthe, NC

6.  Mailed 20 word tiles with specific tags and a reference page to Transient Crafters in Charlottesville VA.

7.  Switched art in and out at Inner Equinox in Solomons, MD

8.  Switched work in and out at Alchemy in Silver Spring, MD, supplying work for the grand opening of their new store in Takoma Park, MD

9.  Did administrative emails to places like Joie de Vivre where I’m having a show in November, follow-ups to my clay class participants

10.  Met with client about designing a water color with a saying she wants printed (she saw my originals at Heron’s Way Gallery)

And that’s just the big stuff.  it doesn’t count any of the smaller day-to-day pieces of running a business.

With all the deliveries and mailings, I STILL have to make more fish and work tiles to get to my goal of 50 fish and 100 word tiles for the Unique Boutique show the end of October (yes, it’s October, not November which I wrote somewhere earlier).  And I signed up for a big show on Pax River Naval Base on December 2, so I probably need andother 25 fish and 50 word tiles to have in stock.  And I need to make some new torsos to go to Ocracoake with since one that I was taking may be the one I just received an email asking about for a mom for Christmas.  Keeps me out of trouble!

Oh yeah, and of course we had to go vote in the primaries yesterday.

House and Linda updates at myspace (September 13)

Thought for the day:  I want to learn how to purr.  Abandon myself, have lovers in maidenhair fern, own no tomorrow nor yesterday, a blank shimmering space forward and back.  I want to think with my belly.  I want to name all the stars animals flowers birds rocks in order to forget them, start over again.  I want to wear the seasons, harlequin, become ancient and etched by weather.  I want to be snow pulse, ruminating ungulate, pebble at the bottom of the abyss, candle burning darkness rather than flame….Robert Maclean, Earth Prayers, ed by Elizabeth Roberts and Elias Amidon
